HICKSVILLE, N.Y. – Long Island-based Godsell Construction Corporation has been donating equipment and building materials to help residents of Rockaway and Seagate recover from Hurricane Sandy.
“Employees from the area told us that their neighbors needed help,” explains company president Arthur Godsell. His firm sent trucks to deliver generators, space heaters, and building materials.
The homeowners will receive additional support as they begin reconstruction, according to Mr. Godsell. He notes that the bulk of the work will probably start in the spring as insurance payments arrive and the weather warms up. “People needed help and we were, thankfully, in a position to give it,” he says.
